St. Bakhita marks second anniversary

The St. Bakhita Catholic Church at Lashibi, near Tema, has celebrated its second anniversary with a call on parents to help their children develop spiritually.

The call was made by Mrs. Rosaline Obeng-Ofori, Vice Chairperson of the Parish Pastoral Council of the St. Bakhita Church, at a celebration at Lashibi.

The Bakhita Church is an outstation of Corpus Christi Parish.
Mrs. Obeng-Ofori noted that the development of children was paramount, and advised parents to learn to understand them.

She urged parents “not to be over-protective, avoid suppressing their genuine interests but at the same time, provide them with  their needs without pampering them”
Rev. Fr. Tony Abeku Adawu of the Cape Coast Archdiocese, asked them  to contribute more positively to the Church’s development.

Mr. Collins Bruce Baiden, a retired employee of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), speaking on The Day Group Concept described it as a dependable method of bringing  parishioners together to implement development programmes.
