The St. Margaret Mary Commandery No 500 and St. Margaret Mary Auxiliary No. 421 of the Knights and Ladies of St. John International (KSJI), Dansoman, recently crowned the 10th anniversary celebration of their existence with a thanksgiving Mass at the St. Margaret Mary Parish, Dansoman.
The thanksgiving Mass, was celebrated by the Assistant Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Andrew Obeng, SVD, and was attended by Knights and Ladies of the Commandery and the Auxiliary, their Cadets and Junior Auxiliary members and delegates from some of the auxiliaries within the Accra Metropolis.
Fr. Obeng, in his homily, counselled members to be true evangelists of the Word of God and brighten the corners that they might find themselves, and be responsive to their Christian duties.
Fr. Obeng later blessed the new clothes out-doored at the thanksgiving Mass.
The celebration which ran through the whole of last year, included presentation of robes to the main Choir of the Star of the Sea Rectorate at the Dansoman Last Stop and a Retreat at the Youth Fellowship Centre at Lashibi in the Archdiocese of Accra.
An open forum discussed achievements and failures of both the Commandery and Auxiliary, a Fitness Walk from Star of the Sea Catholic Church to the St. Bernadette Soubirous School.
Other activities were a talk on health issues, religious quiz involving St. Bernadette Soubirous, Ave Maria, Star of the Sea Schools in Dansoman as well as the St. Gregory School at Buduburam.
The Knights and Ladies donated a water tank to Mamprobi Polyclinic after a clean-up exercise..
The Order also donated pads for kneeling to the chapel to commemorate the event.
After the Mass St. Bernadette Soubirous School which came first, received one million cedis, while Star of the Sea and St. Gregory School tied in the second position received ¢800,000 each.
