The Accra Grand District Three Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John International (KSJI), has donated a cash of five million cedis to the family of five-year-old Francis Antwi, a hole-in-heart patient.
They made the donation following a publication in The Standard by the parents of Francis, seeking financial assistance from the general public for Francis to under-take an operation costing 5,000 Euros.
The presentation was made at the offices of The Standard Newspapers and Magazines Limited (SNAM) at the National Catholic Secretariat in Accra by Mrs. Elsina Kakrabah-Quarshie, Respected President of Grand District Three.
Present were Sister Sussan Ampoma, Second Vice District President, Sister Rose Ofeidie, District Treasurer, Sister Imelda Attipoe, District Delegate and Sister Veronica Acheampong, an Auntie to Francis and Madam Victoria Antwi, Franscis’ mother.
Mrs. Kakrabah-Quarshie hoped that Francis would get well soon to join his colleagues at the Elshadai Preparatory School in Kumasi.
She said Grand District Three was touched by the appeal and promised to support him again.
Madam Antwi thanked the Ladies Auxiliary for the initial money to begin the operation and reiterated her appeal to the general public and philanthropists to support Francis.
