Old Joes celebrate Patron feast Day

The Old Students, Staff and Pupils of St. Joseph Catholic Basic School at Adabraka (Old Joe’s) in Accra, have celebrated their patron feast day with a thanksgiving Mass.

Most Rev. Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle, Archbishop of Accra, an Old Joe, was the main celebrant with Very Rev. Fr. John Louis, Administrator of the Holy Spirit Cathedral, Accra and Rev. Fr. Sylvanus Dogodzi, the Local Manager of the School, concelebrating.

In attendance were Mr. Johnny Moreaux, Chairman of the Cathedral Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs. Jane Prempeh, the Headmistress and some parents.

Archbishop Palmer-Buckle, in a homily, urged parents especially fathers to emulate St. Joseph, who, with Mary, took good care of Jesus and loved Him.

He asked them to support their children in their studies.

The Archbishop prayed that the pupils would grow to become great assets to the nation, and urged teachers to help them to achieve their future ambitions.

He entreated teachers to always see Jesus in the children they teach and show concern even when they are difficult.
Archbishop Palmer-Buckle  advised the pupils to be obedient to their parents.
Mr. Alphonse Agbo, presented a box of crucifixes on behalf of the Old Joes to the School.
